House of Gold

Thousands of tents in a desert plain and in their midst the House of Gold. Who were these people who had been driven to the desert? How do these simple tents fit in with the golden house in the middle? How can a person live in harmony with God?

In every tent and every family of this people there were problems, worries, sadness, quarrels. If we could look into the minds and hearts of the people of that time, we would see the same things that are in our hearts today: Selfishness, pride, impure thoughts, hostility, hatred. But why is the golden house among these people? Why does God want to be involved with them? Why does God not stay in heaven, but seeks a dwelling-place among humans?

God wants to have fellowship with the people. That is what He wanted then, and that is what God still wants today! "Look! God’s dwelling-place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them..." (Revelation 21:3). He wants people to come to Him, but He cannot have fellowship with sinful people because He is holy. At that time, a sacrifice of a clean animal was necessary for people to come into fellowship with God. This sacrifice is a unique prefiguration of the atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. Through Him, the way to God is made free - the curtain is open!

This evangelistic booklet deals with the prefiguration of the tabernacle, the sanctuary of God in the wilderness of Sinai. It pays special attention to the details of the tabernacle and its significance. Colored illustrations help to better understand the details.
