There Am I in Their Midst What is the church (or assembly) according to Gods counsel? To answer this question, the first part of the book shows the differences between the church and the Old Testament Israel. Afterwards, different aspects of the church in the New Testament are shown: the church as the body of Christ, as the House of God, as candlestick and as the bride of Christ. Each of these aspects includes special blessings but also with a special responsibility. In the second part the author gives some practical teachings from the New Testament about the gathering as assembly. The main focus is on these subjects: "gathered to His name", "the Lord's supper", "the Lord's table", "gifts and authorities", "the Christian service" and "the unity of the Spirit". The more and more the New Testament principles are realized in the assemblies, the more freedom exists for the work of the Spirit of God. Then God is glorified, and there will be blessings and joy for man. Detailed Bible verses and indexes facilitate access to specific questions.
